Joe Miele

Joe grew up fishing the waters of SW Florida, making headlines as a teenager after catching a 17 foot Sawfish and a state record Redfish. After taking some time off from fishing to focus on family and business, Joe has returned with a vengeance. He spends his days now fishing the East coast and Bahamas for Tuna, Swords, Wahoo and bottom dwellers.  Joe loves exploring new areas and techniques to keep the Blue Runner team ahead of the fleet.  Joe is USCG licensed.

Boats

Welcome to Blue Runner Sportfishing, the leader in luxury sport fishing adventures. Our philosophy is to provide outstanding boats, incredible customer service and accommodate your needs to create an experience of a lifetime.  From beautiful, safe, well maintained boats to friendly, experienced crews we strive to exceed your expectations in every way. Our boats were built to fish offshore in comfort and were designed by captains with decades of experience fishing the edge.

We design our schedules with your needs in mind, never running back to back trips. By scheduling trips this way, you can schedule your trip time well in advance, making travel arrangements much easier. It also allows us to have flexible trip duration, never having to be back to the dock because we have another trip scheduled to go later in the day. Most importantly, it allows the crew to be well rested so we can give 110% throughout your trip. At Blue Runner Sportfishing, we are focused on quality over quantity.

While we are customer service driven , we realize fishing makes up an important part of your trip. The Blue Runner Team has been built with seasoned offshore captains and mates, led by Captain Mark DeBlasio. His commitment to excellence has made him one of the most consistent producers of the past three decades and has led to many major Tournament victories. Saltwater Sportsman recently named Mark one of the Top 50 Captains worldwide.

When choosing your next offshore adventure, do your research and choose carefully. Whether entertaining clients, family or friends, Blue Runner Sportfishing will do everything possible to make your trip fun and productive.

The newest boat in our fleet, Water Proof , is a Northern Bay 42 custom built by Morgan Bay Boatworks with multi day, long range trips in mind.  Water Proof has been finished to Yacht quality standards and features every amenity to make your trip safe and comfortable. Her size, range, layout and speed make Water Proof ideal for groups of 4-6 to venture far offshore for multi day trips.

She is packed with big boat features like HD satellite TV, Ice maker, Water Maker, LED lighting and state of the art Simrad electronics. The massive cockpit features a built in fish hold designed to store your catch at the optimum temperature, two live wells, tuna door, Ice Maker, grill and greenstick.

The largest vessel in our fleet, Blue Runner, is 60 feet of pure luxury. Every amenity imaginable has been built into this 2012 Ritchie Howell Custom Sportfish, giving our customers the ability to entertain clients, family or friends in a safe, friendly, comfortable package.

Our three stateroom, two bath layout along with a massive salon and well equipped galley insure you and your guests will be comfortable for the duration of your trip. While the Blue Runner is very comfortable, she was purpose built for offshore fishing.

The huge teak cockpit features mezzanine seating and was designed for stand up tuna fishing. The bridge features a state of the art electronics package and ample seating for 6. Blue Runner cruises at 30 knots and will top out close to 40 Knots, giving you more time fishing and less time running.

The smallest boat in our fleet, No Limit, is a 31/32 BHM Downeast style fishing boat, totally refurbished in 2015 with brand new Cummins power.

Her huge cockpit and large keel make the No Limit the ideal boat for inshore day trips for up to 6 passengers and multi day offshore trips for up to 4 passengers. In 2015, the No Limit landed over 80 Bigeye Tuna, making her one of the most successful offshore boats anywhere in the Northeast. The 31 BHM design is known by many as the “biggest little boat ever built” and she proves that day in and day out with her great ride and stability.

Her economy and size allows small groups to experience offshore fishing with a friendly, full time crew for a fraction of the cost normally associated with Canyon fishing.

About

Mark DeBlasio

Mark has spent the last three decades fishing the waters off the East Coast and Bahamas. His passion lies in chasing pelagics in the Canyons or Giant Bluefin in New England and North Carolina. Mark’s reputation as a consistent producer along with his friendly demeanor, have made Mark one of the premier charter captains worldwide. During his career, Mark has placed in over 50% of tournaments entered, put clients on an IGFA all tackle record and been named a Top 50 Captain worldwide by Saltwater Sportsman.  Mark is USCG licensed.

Jared Shukis

Jared has spent the better part of his life fishing the waters of New York and New Jersey. He grew up in a family that owned a party boat and fished that boat throughout his childhood. Once he graduated school, he went to work on some of the premier inshore charter boats out of Atlantic Highlands. As much as he enjoyed inshore fishing, he eventually wanted to expand more into offshore fishing. He joined the Blue Runner Sportfishing Team in May of 2016 and has become an integral part of our team.

Ryan VanderKooy

Ryan started fishing at age 6 in Barnegat Bay with his grandfather. By 1993, he was working deck on the Deep Adventures out of Point Pleasant. Over the following 23 years, he worked with some great captains including John Larsen, Jerry Lanzerotti and Dave Clapp on the Deep Adventures, Wavedancer, Cindy Sea and most recently, Irish Twin. With many years in the fishing business under his belt, Ryan has become a very well rounded captain and fisherman. Whether chasing Marlin and Tuna offshore or bottom fishing inshore, Ryan’s experience and friendly demeanor are sure to provide you with a great fishing trip.
